The text conveys the different ways in which the computer can be used in the classroom. I found the boxes at the bottom of the page very useful because it broke down each of the technologies that can be used to make the classroom stay connected. Schools use computers to help document absences as well as grades on the internet, making the lives of students as well as teachers more organized.

I think that since the last post, I acquired more of an understanding of how necessary the computer is for an educational career. I learned about the different functions of Microsoft Word as well as the Notepad. I was unsure of how to rename an already saved document.

After this class believe that I will have even more enthusiasm to start an academic career more than ever. Even though I am not 100% sure about the path in which I want my future to unfold with, I believe that teaching is a good start. I think I would really enjoy the fact that I could wake up everyday and have an impact on children's lives, to help shape thier future. Although I am also not positive on which route to take, whether it be English or elementary education, I know that education is a good start.

I am originally from New Jersey, one day I hope to return to my homestate and teach either english or elementary level education. I am really proud of myself for coming back to Tallahassee, due to my brief departure during the spring semester.


I was introduced to the computer in elementary school. Ever since then, I have had a keen fascination with new technology that has since been introduced. In high school, I was the editor for my newspaper, therefore leading me to entirely depend upon the computer for the publication.

My expectations for this course are to become more familiar with Excel and PowerPoint as well as obtain the knowledge that teachers use in their every day careers. In addition, I hope to achieve a greater awareness of all the uses that each program offers.
